Lindsey C. Brock III, a managing attorney of the Jacksonville office, is a native of Kentucky and his lived in Jacksonville since 1978. He has practiced law in Florida since 1993 and is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell. Lindsey received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Florida in 1987 where he also served as a section editor for one of the university’s newspapers and as the Director of Public Relations for the Student Government. He then went on to obtain his law degree cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1991. During law school he was member of the Law Review and the school’s National Moot Court team, and received the Distinguished Service Award from the Student Bar Association upon graduation. In order to further his interest in maritime law, Lindsey also received an LL.M. in Admiralty Law from the Tulane University School of Law in 1992. He is also admitted to the Louisiana Bar. During his year at Tulane University, he had the opportunity to assist the late Geoffrey Brice, Q.C. in the second edition of his book, Maritime Law of Salvage, Sweet & Maxwell, London, 1993. Lindsey Brock is admitted to practice before all U.S. District Courts in Florida and the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeal and is working towards his Board Certification as a Civil Trial Lawyer in Florida. As a member of the American Bar Association, he has served as the ABA/YLD Vice Chair of the Admiralty Law Committee from 1995 to 1997, and continued as the Chair of the committee from 1997 to 1998. Lindsey has lectured and published several papers on maritime law including the topics of Legal Ramifications of the Growth of Intermodal Transportation, at the ABA Annual Meeting, Chicago, Ill., in 1995; Riverboat Gaming Finance, at the ABA Annual Meeting, Orlando, Fla., in 1996; and on Jones Act Practice and Procedure, at the ABA Annual Meeting, San Francisco, Cal., in 1997. He has also assisted the Hon. Jean Johnson (Jacksonville, Duval County Circuit Court Judge), as a research/editorial assistant for her book, County Court Practice in Florida, Revere Publishers, Florida, 1995. Along with Richard Rumrell, he authored “Bad Faith and the Economic Loss Rule: The Thin Grey Line” in International Insurance Law Review, Sweet & Maxwell, May 1998. He is also a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association, the U.S. Maritime Law Association, and has been listed in Who’s Who in American Law.

Always desiring to keep a good perspective on things outside the legal arena, Lindsey remains active in the community and taught a Complex Civil Litigation course at Florida Coastal Law School. He is a frequent speaker on George Washington and Captain John Barry, the Father of the American Navy. Lindsey has also served on various Tasks Forces of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, the Jacksonville Propeller Club, and the Jacksonville Community Council, Inc.’s JCCI Forward initiative to develop leadership within the city of Jacksonville. He has also served as a Florida Certified instructor on Florida’s Mechanic’s Lien Law for construction professionals with Associated Builders & Contractors, Inc. and even produced a local television talk show hosted by former City Councilman, now Florida State Representative, Terry Fields.
