Alfred C. Warrington, V, PA
Alfred C. Warrington, V, PA is an insurance dispute resolution lawyer. Based in Alachua, Florida, near Gainesville and the University of Florida, Mr. Warrington provides United States and London insurers with advice on marine and non-marine claims throughout the United States. He serves, for example, as national coverage counsel for a major marine insurer. Mr. Warrington’s key areas of work include contract interpretation, materiality of underwriting information, allocation, broker negligence, and claims handling compliance issues. A significant portion of his work is devoted to providing clients with coverage opinions arising from first and third party claims. He also regularly assists with the early resolution of difficult claims, and works closely with underwriters in drafting policy forms and endorsements. When litigation is necessary, Mr. Warrington represents clients in state and federal courts. He also represents clients in mediations and other confidential proceedings. He has written and lectured on insurance topics in the United States and England.
Prior to joining Rumrell, Costabel, Warrington & Brock, LLP in August 1999, Mr. Warrington was counsel to LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae LLP (now Dewey & LeBoeuf, LLP), where he was resident in that law firm’s London, England and Jacksonville, Florida offices and a member of its insurance litigation department.
Mr. Warrington received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1982 and Juris Doctor degree in 1985 from the University of Florida. He holds a Masters degree from King’s College, University of London. He is a member of The Maritime Law Association of the United States, The Florida Bar, and various other professional organizations.
Besides practicing law, Mr. Warrington enjoys spending time with his wife and son. An avid boater and fisherman, he holds a captain’s license (USCG OUPV), and is a member of the Northeast Florida Marlin Association in St. Augustine. Mr. Warrington is active in his local church and in Scouting.
