Rumrell, Costabel, Warrington & Brock LLP is a multi-faceted firm. It is our mission to provide responsible and complete legal services while maintaining a commitment to excellence. This distinction is captained by a bias toward action, achieving consistent and effective results for our clients both domestically and abroad.

We have developed a law practice, which provides for cost effective representation of our clients, emphasizing prompt analysis of legal questions and issues. We have also developed a Risk/Cost Analysis for litigation that considers not only the direction of the case from a legal perspective, but also from a cost factor given the potential exposure. Having these evaluations of risk and cost, our clients can make an informed decision as to when to proceed with a case and when to exit. When the continued payment of litigation expenses is simply increasing without helping reduce the risk in the case, then we state that the case has reached a potential resolution point, which we call a Resolution Horizon. Using these tools, we set before the client in a clear and understandable way the information need to make informed decisions about the direction of the case and offer you, the client, the chance to have meaningful input into how the case is handled.

Our litigation philosophy make us uniquely tailored to assist in potential major litigation cases as well as smaller litigation cases. Rumrell, Costabel, Warrington & Brock LLP is well experienced in the areas of insurance, maritime, and construction law and has been successful in pioneering important legal defenses, particularly Florida's economic loss doctrine. Richard Rumrell was involved as counsel for Charley Toppino & Sons, in engineering the defining case on Florida's economic loss doctrine, Casa Clara v. Charley Toppino & Sons, 620 So.2d 1244 (Fla. 1993). Casa Clara stated that the economic loss rule "prohibits tort recovery when a product damages itself, causing economic loss, but does not cause personal injury or damage to any property other than itself." Id. at 1246. This extension of the economic loss rule avoided exposure to our client of many hundreds of millions of dollars regarding concrete defects throughout the Florida Keys.

Our experience and belief has always been that it is not just hard work, but smart work, that wins cases and solves problems. We listen as well as speak. We want to be a member of your team, mutually working towards a swift and effective solution for any legal problem you may be facing.
